Raleigh was founded in the 1790s to serve as a state capital. It has remained a government city with some awesome museums and galleries. The music scene here is really amazing too. Don’t miss out on architectural marvels such as the 1840 state capitol.

Start Your Day at the Sushi Bar at 8:00 am 

The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar is known for its excellent ambiance. This is an unusual burger and sushi joint which serves amazing food in a fun filled atmosphere. The heavenly and beautiful Sarah P Duke Gardens is known for its terraced rose gardens, over 50 acres of koi ponds and lovely groves of magnolia where Frisbee is played on pleasant days. Enjoy the peace and quiet as you take in the beauty of nature.

The North Carolina Museum of Art is perfect for those who love architectural marvels and cultural legacies. From dated Greek sculpture to massive American landscape paintings, you have just about every type of art featured here. This is located few miles from downtown.

Get Scientific at 11:00 am 

Check out the Raleigh Museum of Natural Science to get a dose of science and technology. The Nature Research Center offers scientists a chance to showcase their innovations and explore global research trends. From dinosaur fossils to physics models, you can see science in its various applications.

Enjoy a Dose of History at 12:00 pm 

North Carolina Museum of History is great on information, as you can get all the historical facts under one roof. There is even a 3000 year old boating canoe which is an amazing relic of the past. The special exhibits here are interesting too. The museum remains open from 9 in the morning to 5 in the evening Monday to Saturday. It is open from noon to 5 pm on Sundays.

Marvel at the North Carolina State Capitol at 2:00 pm 

This is one of the most famous and well known sights in Raleigh. Built in the 1830s, this North Carolina historic landmark is also home to the governor’s office apart from housing the state library, state geologist’s offices and cabinet.
