North Carolina Museum of Art has an impressive collection which extends beyond 5000 years. This museum houses everything from an Egyptian sarcophagus to Grecio-Roman sculptures. Other collections include the Ancient Americas, American, European, Judaic and more.

William B. Ulmstead State Park offers over 16 miles of hiking trails and riding trails for those who are fond of horse riding.

Historic Yates Mill County Park is located in Raleigh, NC and it the only remaining gristmill in Wake County namely Historic Yates Mill. This is the only water powered gristmill in Wake County with corn grinding exhibits. Park spans 174 acres and also has a 20 acre pond.
