If you are fond of art and theatre, this is one of the best places to visit. Historic Oak View County Park

This is a typical Southern farm featuring an 1855 style house with a cotton gin and carriage house. It also has a barn and a herb garden, not to mention a grove of pecans. You can enjoy a leisurely picnic here. Admission to this park is free of charge. The park remains open from Monday to Saturday, 8:30 in the morning to 5 in the evening and from 1 to 5 pm on Sundays. Carl Alwin Schenck Memorial Fores

This is a massive forest spanning 245 acres across western Wake County located within 10 minutes distance of the state university campus. This is one of the most renowned visual arts museums in all of Southern America with a massive gallery and world class collection of Rodin sculptures. This museum also has a park spanning 164 acres and opens from 10 in the morning to 5 in the evening, Tuesdays to Thursdays. On Friday, this museum is open from 10 in the morning to 9 in the night.
